Do I need therapy?

Therapy might not be something we all think about but it is something that we should all consider. Think of times you do something for yourself, for your well being such as exercising, reading, going to the spa or traveling for leisure-Therapy is a great way for self care but at the same time it is a space where you have to be vulnerable and talk about personal issues. This is why finding a therapist who is a good fit is also important. Invest in yourself, you matter! Therapists bring you support, problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping strategies for a number of issues. Essentially therapy helps you understating yourself, your goals and values.

What can I expect to get out of therapy?

Therapy is for the ‘crazy’. The ultimate purpose of therapy is to help you bring what you learn in session back into your life. Therapy provides long-lasting benefits and support, giving you the tools you need to avoid triggers, re-direct damaging patterns, and overcome whatever challenges you face. People seeking psychotherapy are ready to make positive changes in their lives, are open to new perspective. Even for those of us who think that we can handle our own problems we are all human and we all face challenges in our lifetime. If you find that you are considering therapy this alone demonstrates a strength of self-awareness.
